Private Patient capital · Generational thinking

Where capital meets possibility.

We invest our own capital alongside founders, business owners, and real estate partners. No fund clock, no forced exits. Disciplined underwriting, straight answers, and a long view measured in generations.

Our values

Five letters. One promise.

The five letters of our name describe how we invest.

Discipline

Position size is set before price is negotiated. No single deal can put the mission at risk.

Responsibility

To employees, tenants, and communities, written into our terms, not left to good intentions.

Endurance

We underwrite every deal as if we will own it for 25 years. If it only works as a flip, we pass.

Alignment

Our own capital goes in first, and we earn most of our return only after partners earn theirs.

Multigenerational

Wealth and values that outlast a single cycle, for our partners’ families and our own.

Our process

From first email to close, with no surprises

You will always know where you stand. If it is a no, you will hear it early and hear why.

Home / About

More than capital. A commitment to possibility.

A private investment group that puts long-term capital to work in businesses, property, and people, and measures success in decades, not quarters.

Our story

Built for the builders capital overlooks

Mark A Dream began with a simple observation: the businesses that hold communities together, the family-owned company, the well-kept rental, the founder with a real product, are often the ones institutional capital overlooks. They are too small, too local, or too patient for a fund on a seven-year clock.

We built Mark A Dream to be the partner those builders were missing. We invest our own and our partners' capital, which means we can say yes to the right deal at the right pace and hold it for as long as it keeps creating value.

Mission

To create opportunity and lasting wealth by backing the people who build, own, and care for real businesses and real places.

Vision

A portfolio of enduring companies and properties that provides for families, employs neighbors, and funds the next generation of dreamers.

Our values spell our name

  • Discipline. Position size is set before price is negotiated.
  • Responsibility. Commitments to employees and tenants are written into our terms.
  • Endurance. Every decision is tested against a 25-year horizon.
  • Alignment. Our capital goes in first, alongside yours.
  • Multigenerational. Wealth and values that outlast a single cycle.

Managing Partner

Adam Wilcox

Adam leads Mark A Dream, bringing more than 20 years in banking, payments, and risk management to every investment the firm makes.

Adam has spent his career inside some of the country's most regulated financial institutions. He currently leads cloud governance and data analytics at Bank of America. At Truist, he helped coordinate the integration of SunTrust and BB&T into a single bank. At First Data, he oversaw portfolio reporting across more than 250 merchant-solutions projects and identified over $400,000 in cost savings.

That background shapes how Mark A Dream invests. Decisions are grounded in data, risk is measured before return, and every deal gets the compliance discipline of a regulated institution, delivered with the speed and personal attention of a private firm. Because the firm invests its own capital, the person who answers your first call is the person who makes the decision.

Home / Strategy

Invest with purpose. Build with intention.

Concentrated where we have an edge, diversified where we don't. Here is how our capital is organized and why.

Target allocation

Core, treasury, opportunistic

Illustrative long-term targets. Actual allocation varies with opportunity and market conditions.

All strategies

Where we invest

Principles

Four rules that govern every decision

The guardrails behind every allocation choice above.

Disciplined allocation

No single investment exceeds a set share of the balance sheet. Position size is decided before price is negotiated.

Diversification with intent

We diversify across lanes and geographies, but not into things we don't understand. Treasury assets keep us liquid and patient.

Responsible growth

Modest leverage, positive cash flow, and growth funded by profits. A business that survives a downturn compounds longer.

Long-term vision

We underwrite every deal as if we will own it for 25 years. If it only works with a quick flip, we pass.

Direct deals, alongside people with skin in the game.

Selected accredited investors and family offices can co-invest beside Mark A Dream in individual real estate and private business transactions.

● Deal by dealChoose each investment. No blind pool.
● AlignedOur own capital is in every deal we offer.

How co-investing works

We build relationships first. Investors join a private list, meet the team, and receive details of specific opportunities only after we have confirmed accreditation and a pre-existing relationship. Every offering is made through formal documents prepared by counsel, never through this website.

Who qualifies as accredited?

Under SEC rules, individuals generally qualify with income above $200,000 ($300,000 with a spouse or partner) in each of the last two years, net worth above $1 million excluding a primary residence, or by holding a Series 7, 65, or 82 license. Read the full guide →

Home / Portfolio

What we own and build

We list portfolio companies and properties only with our partners' permission. These categories show the kinds of assets we hold today.

Real estate

Residential rentals

Long-held single-family and small multifamily homes, renovated to a standard we'd live in and managed for long-term tenancy.

Private business

Owner-led operating companies

Minority and majority positions in service businesses with recurring customers.

Venture

Early-stage technology

Small positions in software and payments founders where we bring operating know-how.

Owner action: add 3–6 named case studies (logo, one-line description, year, role, and a partner quote with written permission). Named case studies are the strongest conversion asset for founders and sellers.

Home / Impact

Every investment can create a ripple effect.

Capital deployed thoughtfully creates jobs, keeps homes safe and affordable, and opens doors for the next generation.

What we measure

Impact we report on every year

Jobs

Positions created and retained across portfolio companies, and median wage growth.

Housing quality

Units renovated, average tenancy length, and maintenance response time.

Ownership

Employees and managers granted equity or profit share.

Community

Dollars and hours given to local nonprofits, with a focus on youth and housing stability.

Generational legacy

Wealth that outlives a single cycle

We hold assets through cycles, reinvest a share of returns into the next generation of entrepreneurs, and help partner families build structures, such as trusts, family LLCs, and simple governance, that keep wealth and values together.
